BELGIAN ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY V.V.S. - Working Group Variable Stars Cataclysmic Variables Circular No.22 1994, December 06 Ed.: T. Confirmation has been obtained from Tonny Vanmunster, Landen, Belgium and from Bill Worraker, Didcot, UK. 1994 Dec 03.882 UT, [16.2 (G. Poyner, Birmingham, UK, 0.40-m refl); Dec 05.751 UT, 13.5 (P. Schmeer, 0.20-m SCT); Dec 05.792 UT, 13.4 (T. Vanmunster, 0.35-m refl, seq: TA); Dec 05.852 UT, 13.4 (W. Worraker, 0.26-m refl); Dec 05.908 UT, 13.3 (W. Worraker); The previous confirmed outburst of this star was seen nearly half a year ago, by Tonny Vanmunster on Jul 12, 1994 (see CVC No.9). IP Peg [UG, 12.0B - 16.6B] ========================== We have been informed by Bill Worraker, Didcot, UK of his detection of an outburst of this eclipsing dwarf nova. An independent report has also been received from William G. Dillon, Texas, USA. 1994 Dec 05.802 UT, [13.8 (T. Vanmunster, 0.35-m refl, seq: TA); Dec 05.854 UT, 14.3 (W. Worraker, 0.26-m refl, seq: TA); Dec 05.861 UT, 14.3 (W. Worraker); Dec 05.873 UT, 14.1 (W. Worraker); Dec 05.906 UT, 14.2 (W. Worraker); Dec 06.163 UT, 13.6 (W. Dillon, 0.28-m SCT, seq: AAVSO); An international observing project on IP Peg to study its eclipse behaviour has been set up a few months ago by Bill Worraker, Didcot, UK (The Astronomer/BAA). Observers are stronly encouraged to send their eclipse timings (with full details on sequence and comparison stars) to Bill Worraker (INTERNET: bill.worraker@aea.orgn.uk). IP Peg was last seen in outburst on August 26, 1994 (see CVC No.13) by M. Yamada, Ishikawa, Japan. DM Lyr [UG, 13.6p - 18p] ======================== Further to the outburst announcement in CVC No.21, we herewith include a photometric summary covering the recent activity of this dwarf nova. There is significant scatter in the reported magnitude estimates. Probably, this can be explained due to differences in the used sequences. When comparing for instance the AAVSO sequence with the TA (The Astronomer Group) sequence, we found differences up to 1 mag for identical comparison stars. Observers are therefor urged to include the sequence reference, when reporting future magnitude estimates of DM Lyr ! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DATE (UT) MAGN MS SEQ OBSERVER REMARKS SOURCE ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1994 10 31.877 [14.8 mv Worraker, B. 26-cm refl.
