Confirmative observations were made by T. Kato, Ouda Team, Kyoto University, Japan and by Patrick Schmeer, Bischmisheim, Germany. An independent outburst detection was made by Tonny Vanmunster, Landen, Belgium. 1995 07 24.899 UT, [14.0 (T. Vanmunster, 0.35-m refl., seq: AAVSO); 07 25.010 UT, [14.0 (E. Broens, 0.35-m refl., seq: AAVSO); 07 25.994 UT, [13.9 (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl.); 07 28.967 UT, 12.7 (J. Pietz); 07 29.913 UT, 13.0 (T. Vanmunster); 07 29.930 UT, 12.8 (P. Schmeer, 0.20-m SCT, seq: GSC); V1028 Cyg has been discovered and classified as a dwarf nova by Hoffmeister. In (Bruch and Schimpke, 1992), spectroscopic observations of V1028 Cyg are discussed, which indicate, through the presence of H and He I emission lines on a flat continuum, the dwarf nova nature. Following the records in the "Outburst Activity Database on Selected Cataclysmic Variables" (Vanmunster and Howell, 1995), V1028 Cyg was last seen in outburst on 1992, September 6th, by Dyck, when it reached mag. 13.8. Although that outburst was separated by less than 1 year from the previous outburst, no positive observations of V1028 Cyg have been reported anymore since 1992. There did not appear to be any blue objects at the nominal position quoted in the NSV, but there is an extremely blue object about 5' north at about V~18, which is not inconsistent with the published chart. Your group should probably keep an eye on this object, as well as the objects at the nominal position. The coordinates of the blue star (J2000) are 12 18 30 +40 05 22." GO Com [UGWZ:, 13.1p - 20p] =========================== The following is an overview of all observations that we received on GO Com. Unfortunately, only one definite seighting has been reported. Special thanks go the members of the Hungarian Astronomical Associa- tion for their reports of an intensive GO Com observation campaign. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE (UT) MAGN MS SEQ OBSERVER REMARKS SOURCE ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1995 07 16.951 13.3 mv GSC Vanmunster, T. 35-cm refl.
