Tonny Vanmunster, CBA Belgium has confirmed the outburst, using a CCD camera attached to a 0.25-m f/6.3 SCT. V1251 Cyg belongs to the Recurrent Objects Programme of TA/BAAVSS. Available observations : 1997 Sep 05.933 UT, [15.3 (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl., visual); Sep 07.889 UT, 13.3 (T. Kinnunen, visual); Sep 07.922 UT, 13.8 (G. Poyner); Sep 07.936 UT, 14.1 (T. Vanmunster, 0.25-m SCT, unfilt. CCD); V1251 Cyg was last observed in outburst on 1994, Dec 30 by Gary Poyner [CVC 24]. The outburst lasted for over 12 days and was monitored very intensively [CVC 26]. A maximum brightness of mag 12.9 was attained. CCD photometry during the 1991 superoutburst of V1251 Cyg, by T. Kato of Ouda Observatory, Kyoto University, Japan, revealed the existence of superhumps in this system with a period of 0.07604 +/- 0.00010 d. Tonny Vanmunster
