Gary Poyner has informed us about an uncer- tain confirmation (hazy skies), while Tonny Vanmunster, CBA Belgium Observatory reports confirmation by CCD. Observations : 1997 Sep 22.793 UT, [16.0 (T. Vanmunster, 0.25-m SCT, unfilt. CCD); Sep 22.943 UT, [14.7 (E. Broens, 0.35-m refl., visual); Sep 23.029 UT, [14.7 (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl., visual); Sep 23.87 UT, 15.3 (T. Kinnunen, 0.44-m refl., visual); Sep 23.917 UT, 15.4:: (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl., visual); Sep 23.932 UT, 15.8 (T. Vanmunster, 0.25-m SCT, unfilt. CCD); KW And was last reported in outburst on March 10, 1996 by Tonny Vanmunster [CVC 85] at mag. 15.0. The object did not became brighter than mag 14.8 during this short outburst [CVC 87]. KW And was discovered by Kurochkin and originally designated SVS 2206. Two of the outbursts that he detected on photographic plates lasted for more than 8 days. Apart from this, little is known about KW And. Hence, follow-up observations, both visual and by CCD, are highly welcomed. Tonny Vanmunster
